Twitter Autorefresh

Monday, March 6, 2017
This plugin automatically loads new tweets in Twitter's desktop interface, provided the browser window is scrolled to the top.

This gives Twitter a chatroom-style experience, and does so without confusing or interfering with the user if they're interacting with older loaded tweets down the page. Many autorefresh plugins exist, but none are savvy enough to work that way to avoid a painful user experience.

If you want the page to not autorefresh temporarily, simply scroll down it a little bit (specifically, more than 5 pixels). When you want it to start autorefreshing again, scroll back to the top and wait a second or so.

This is a Web Extensions plugin and works in both Firefox and Chrome, though the javascript is currently slightly different between the two. Please use the right version for your browser.
